Dr. Neil Rufino specialized in helping active adults in St. Louis overcome pain and injuries get back to an happy, healthy, and active lifestyle without relying on pain medications, injections, or surgery.
Dr. Rufino was born in the Philippines and grew up at the northwest suburbs of Chicago. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in 2014 from Illinois Wesleyan University, where he was also a Varsity Tennis player. He then earned his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Washington University in St. Louis in 2018.
Dr. Rufino completed an orthopedic residency through Movement for Life and the University of Southern California from 2018-2019. He became board certified in orthopedic physical therapy in 2020, a credential that less than 10% of physical therapists have obtained. From 2022-2023 he completed a fellowship in Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapy and became a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Physical Therapists in 2024.
Dr. Rufino's treatment philosophy involves developing a therapeutic alliance with his patients/clients to address their personalized needs, goals, and values. He aims to determine the root cause of the problem, treat the whole individual person, and provide strategies to provide long-term improvements in pain and function.
In his free-time, Dr. Rufino likes to play tennis, run, cook, try new restaurants, and travel to new places.
